As you all know from past experience, City Year New Orleans participates in a day of service on MLK, Jr. Day every year. It is a day that brings City Year, past and present, together with members of the New Orleans community to serve the greater city and community of New Orleans. This year we're excited that our project's home-base will be at our partner school, Langston Hughes Academy.

City Year New Orleans Martin Luther King Day Jr. Day of Service Jan. 18, 2016:

Location: Langston Hughes Academy, 3519 Trafalgar St. 

Time: 8AM-1PM

Activities: City Year New Orleans AmeriCorps members and volunteers will engage in service projects that include community beautification such as tree planting with the NOLA Tree project, a community resource fair from 10:30am-1pm, school beautification projects, and a playground build and garden-work in collaboration with Edible SchoolYard at Langston Hughes Academy of the Firstline Schools network. Breakfast and lunch will be provided!
