Nearly 10% of our applicants this year have been from City Year, will you be next?

As an AmeriCorps National Teaching Fellow with Citizen Schools, you will expand your time of service with City Year on the front lines of education reform in our of our nation’s public middle schools. You will work to close the Opportunity Gap that persists between affluent and underserved communities by providing middle school students access to Citizen Schools Expanded Learning Time programming.

You will serve as an important member of the community, mobilizing a team of public school teachers, parents, volunteers and other service members to help all children discover and achieve their dreams.

As a paid service member, you will get things done for the students you serve and do what it takes to keep them on track through the middle school years. As you help them grow, you’ll see improvements in your leadership and communication skills as well.

We’re looking for people who want to inspire children and accelerate their career growth!

SERVE: Identify & engage the community to help meet students’ needs.

TEACH: Provide middle school students with extra academic support during the Expanded Learning Day and foster social/emotional learning with students.

GROW: Bring your skills from City Year, so you can continue to develop them in the education, nonprofit and public sector, such as, data analysis, project management, and instructional leadership.

All National Teaching Fellow positions begin in July 2016 with Summer Institute, an intensive training program, during which you will begin to learn the skills needed to successfully work in low income schools and deliver high quality programming to students.

Sign-Up for our next virtual information session for Wednesday, March 23rd, which is going to feature a Teaching Fellow and alum.

Our application process is on-going, but trust me, you want to apply earlier than later to get the region of your choice!
