Eligibility and Additional Information
- 25% Merit Scholarship. Qualifying applicants will receive a
scholarship award of approximately 25% of tuition. Up to two (2)
recipients per year may be selected. Eligible Kogod degree programs under this
partnership include the Full-time MBA, Professional MBA, and Master of Science
in Sustainability Management.
- The scholarship may be
renewed each semester for the full duration of the award terms provided that
the student remains in good academic standing.
- Scholarships awarded to City Year corps members and alumni for at least
one year of service and City Year staff members employed for at least two
- Accepted applicants may defer enrollment up to one year if they decide
to serve additional time with City Year; however
City Year members cannot defer a merit scholarship. City Year members will be
re-considered for the City Year scholarship for the following year.
- City Year applicants not
awarded the give a year Scholarship may be considered for other available merit
financial aid based on the strength of the candidate’s qualifications and

check the City Year box on the online application. Otherwise, please
the Admissions Office and state that you served with City Year and reference
Year verification: To get the application fee waived and to be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with "American University Kogod School of Business" in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your corps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to the Admissions Office and added to your applicant file.
