City Year is proud to partner with the City on a Hill Urban Teaching Fellowship so our alumni can continue to make transformational change in response to pressing social problems. This partnership reflects the shared visions and values of both organizations and their belief that young people can keep students on track to graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. City Year strengthens an applicant’s competitiveness and chances for being selected for the City on a Hill Urban Teaching Fellowship.
The City on a Hill Urban Teaching Fellowship is an on-site licensure program focused on training effective urban educators. Fellows are trained and mentored by veteran City on a Hill teachers while taking graduate courses at Boston University toward a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree.
The City Year experience is a strong indicator of future success in the City on a Hill Urban Teaching Fellowship, and serving a year with City Year strengthens an applicant’s application and chances for being selected as a Fellow.
