Where: 15600 Bunche Park Dr. West, Opa Locka FL 33054
April is National Volunteer Month, and Rebuilding Together Miami Dade is teaming up with Comcast and NBCUniversal for the annual Comcast Cares Day. Participants will work together with contractors to rehabilitate 15 homes, a park and a community center in the Opa-Locka community
.Volunteers can paint, clean, landscape, participate in the children's village & prepare care packages for the elderly & veterans of Miami-Dade. Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade is a non-profit organization that preserves home ownership and revitalizes neighborhoods by providing free of charge rehabilitation services to the elderly, veterans, disabled and low income homeowners. Through the support of corporate sponsors, local businesses and the hands-on work of volunteers, the organization donates approximately $250,000 in market value each year by focusing on home modifications, energy efficiency and safety concerns.
This year, City Year Miami will help lead projects and volunteers throughout the day, supporting one of our City Year national sponsors. We appreciate nothing more than when our supporters come volunteer for our days of service, and we want other non-profits in Miami feel the same level of love and support from their communities!
