City Year is proud to partner with KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) so our alumni can continue to lead transformational change on pressing social problems. This partnership reflects the shared visions and values of both organizations, and their belief that young people can keep students on track to graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. City Year strengthens an applicant’s competitiveness and chances for being selected for the KIPP New Jersey Teaching Residency, KIPP Bay Area Teaching Residency and KIPP Houston Graduate Teaching Fellowship.
KIPP is a non-profit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools serving elementary, middle, and high school students. We have a 20-year track record of preparing our students in educationally under-served communities for success in college and life. We believe that all students can learn and achieve at high levels if given the opportunity. Our mission is to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to seize those opportunities. Great education transforms lives.
The City Year experience is a strong indicator of future success at KIPP, and serving a year with City Year strengthens an applicant’s application and chances for being selected to the Teacher Residency Programs with KIPP in the Bay Area, Houston, New Jersey & Massachusetts.
