Program benefits vary by location, but all KIPP Teaching Fellows and Residents will receive the following benefits:

KIPP Massachusetts Teaching Fellows: spend each day teaching and learning alongside an experienced teacher with the goal of becoming a KIPP Massachusetts lead teacher. Resident Teachers are eligible for a partial tuition scholarship to Boston University’s Graduate School of Education if you are interested in pursuing a master’s degree and Massachusetts Teacher’s License.

KIPP New Jersey Teacher in Residence: receive the hands-on experience and certification you need to become an excellent teacher at KIPP’s world-class schools. Teachers in residence will fuse theory and practice as you work alongside experienced teachers in the classroom while earning your teaching certification.

KIPP Northern California Teacher Residency: Become a highly qualified Teacher with KIPP NorCal’s One Year Accelerated Teacher Residency Program. Earn your Preliminary California Teaching credential and Master’s in Education with our program that combines theory and practice by pairing Residents with a high-performing mentor teacher while simultaneously completing master’s level coursework and attending curated resident seminars. At the conclusion of the program, residents have access to job openings for the following school year. Apply Today! All City Year applicants receive an automatic first-round interview!

KIPP SoCal Teacher Residency at Alder GSE: Let the KIPP SoCal Public School Team & Family be the first step in your pathway to becoming the teacher you are meant to be. Earn your California teaching credential through a powerful apprenticeship program focused on teacher and leadership development within a highly effective, hands-on, mentored, and formal learning environment. In one year, you’ll earn a California teaching credential and master’s degree and be eligible for a teaching job at a great salary. Apply before our final deadline. City Year applicants will receive an automatic first-round interview.

KIPP Texas Relay Residency: provides a unique opportunity for aspiring teachers to learn alongside mentor teachers, while earning a master’s degree in teaching and Texas teaching certificate. This prestigious, paid, two-year residency immerses Residents in intensive training through coursework and deliberate practice before stepping into the classroom full time your second year in the program. Please note, the residency teaching positions are for core content subjects only. City Year applicants that meet all eligibility requirements will receive an automatic first-round interview.

KIPP DC Capital Teaching Residency: The Capital Teaching Residency is a yearlong paid residency that leads to certification and opportunities as a lead teacher in Washington, D.C. Through hands-on teaching experience, unparalleled coaching, professional development, and a commitment to educational equity, the Capital Teaching Residency provides an alternative and accessible pathway to certification and career opportunities. Residents can teach in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school at KIPP DC. City Year alum who are qualified are guaranteed a first-round interview!
