Eligibility & Additional Info 
  • 25% Tuition Scholarship for all bachelor's and master’s degree programs. The scholarship award for Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies will be equal to 25% of the per credit tuition charge, for the duration of the student’s program of study, to all admitted City Year corps members, alumni or staff members per year. The scholarship will be applied through degree completion, with a maximum duration of eligibility equal to seven years from initial enrollment into the program of study.

  • Scholarships applicable to on-campus and online bachelor's or master's degree programs.

  • Scholarships awarded to City Year alumni for at least one year of service and City Year staff members employed for at least two years.

  • A one-year deferral for students who are admitted to a program and decide to serve with City Year before starting their study with the Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies.

How to Apply

There are multiple start terms per year and application deadlines vary by program. For more information about the application process, and how to apply online, please visit www.northeastern.edu/cps/admissions.


Identify & Verify your City Year Affiliation

  • When completing the online admissions application select "City Year" under the "Are you affiliated with one of the following associations, organizations, companies, etc.?" section of the application. Click here for further instructions.

  • City Year verification: To get the application fee waived and to be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with "Northeastern University College of Professional Studies (indicate grad or undergrad) in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your corps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to Admissions Office and added to your applicant file.
