Rocky Mountain Prep Teaching Fellowship


City Year is proud to partner with Rocky Mountain Prep Teaching Fellowship so our alumni can continue to make a difference in classrooms and in the lives of students. This partnership reflects the shared visions and values of both organizations, and their belief that young people can keep students on track to graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education. City Year strengthens an applicant’s competitiveness and chances for being selected for Rocky Mountain Prep Teaching Fellowship.


Rocky Mountain Prep Teaching Fellowship  is a 1 year residency based teaching fellowship program which prepares the next generation of PK-6th grade teachers to close the educational opportunity gap. For a full school year, fellows will learn from master teachers at RMP. They will also receive weekly professional development, observation, and coaching. Licensure opportunities are available from the University of of Colorado Denver.

Benefits offered by Rocky Mountain Prep Teaching Fellowship 

  • Colorado K-6 teacher certification offered through University of Colorado Denver School of Education

  • Access to scholarship from Rocky Mountain Prep to attain certification from UCD

  • Ongoing professional development and coaching opportunities

  • ~50% of RMP Teaching Fellows are hired to teach at RMP the year following their fellowship. The other ~50% are offered assistance in finding a teaching placement in Denver Public Schools.
