Background

Roots Elementary is a new school that does school in a new way. Roots is the product of over three years of rigorous design work, drawing on best practices from high-performing schools around the country, cutting edge technology, and an innovative use of time and space that finally puts students at the center of their education.  The Roots Teaching Fellowship is an apprenticeship program in partnership with the University of Colorado that prepares you to be a phenomenal lead teacher at Roots or elsewhere after completing the one year program.

The City Year experience is a strong indicator of future success at Roots Elementary and serving a year with City Year strengthens an applicant’s application and chances for being selected as a Teaching Fellow.
