Background
The
School of Public Affairs prepares the next generation of leaders in public
service and criminal justice professions to solve society’s most pressing
problems. Working together, faculty, staff and students also conduct research
that improves the quality of life and informs policy making and management in
the public and nonprofit sectors. The accelerated
MPA is a fast-paced, full-time program that brings academically superior
students together with a dedicated research and teaching faculty in the midst
of the vibrant downtown Denver environment.

Eligibility and Additional Information
- 25% Tuition Scholarship to the accelerated
Masters in Public Administration program.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to one City Year corps member
or alumna/us who completed at least one year of service or a City Year staff
member employed for at least two years.
The scholarship is renewable in the second year of the program.
- The scholarship recipient must remain in good
academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or higher) to continue to receive the scholarship
in the following semester. If the
recipient does not complete the AMPA program in the first eleven (11) months
with the cohort, the School of Public Affairs will discontinue the scholarship.
- A
one-year deferral for admitted students who decide to serve with City Year for
additional time before starting their program. A student who elects to defer enrollment shall
have to re-apply for the give a year scholarship and is not guaranteed a
scholarship.
- Applicants will be considered for additional merit-based awards
depending on the strength of the application.

- Please
contact the School of Public Affairs Director of Student Recruitment to have
the application fee waived and to be considered for the scholarship described
above. Please state that you served with City Year and reference our
partnership.
- City Year verification: To get the application fee waived and to be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with "UCD School of Public Affairs" in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your corps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to Admissions Office and added to your applicant file.
