Urban Teacher Center encourages all City Year corps members to apply to its pioneering alternative teacher preparation program in Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC by its last application deadline April 1. Our application is online at UTC provides 15 months of training before you get your own classroom. This includes a residency co-teaching with a host teacher, full-scholarship for 2 master's (including one in special education), 3 years of one-on-one coaching and job placement. The Aspire Teacher Residency (ATR) is a teacher training program offered by Aspire Public Schools that is designed to prepare excellent teachers by pairing theory and practice through master's level coursework and classroom practicum. Aspire Teacher Residents co-teach alongside a trained Mentor Teacher while earning their teaching credential and MA in Curriculum and Instruction in year 1, then are hired to teach at an Aspire school in California or Memphis, TN in year 2.  Applications for the 2014/15 program are due March 7, 2014.  Apply today!
