Sandra Lopez Burke Selected to GK100, celebrating Boston’s most influential people of color
Sandra Lopez Burke, City Year Boston’s Vice President and Executive Director, has been selected to the GK100, celebrating Boston’s Most Influential People of Color. The esteemed recognition from Get Konnected!, the Boston Foundation, and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce recognizes Sandra’s leadership and impact in the Boston community for more than a decade, and her peers include Boston’s top corporate and civic leaders.
We were pleased to see so many members from City Year Boston’s corporate champions and community partners selected as well, including National Grid, State Street, Santander, Liberty Mutual, Staples and the Boston Public Schools.
The event toasted Get Konnected!’s 10 year anniversary, as well as the second edition of the GK100 list, and the GK10, highlighting Boston’s most game-changing equity ideas. Impact Managers Leo Morris and Courtney Lynn-Dailey accepted the award on Sandra’s behalf and heard from a fireside chat featuring Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Bob Rivers, Chairman & CEO, Eastern Bank; Bennie Wiley, President, The Wiley Group; President Emerita, The Partnership; Betty Francisco, Founder & CEO, Reimagine Play; Co-Founder, Latina Circle; and Shirley Leung, Business Columnist, The Boston Globe. Get Konnected! founder Colette Phillips, Karen Holmes Ward from WCVB, Paul Grogan from the Boston Foundation, and Jim Rooney from the Chamber also commended the recipients and the ongoing work to spotlight Boston’s diverse leadership.
