Gala in the Garden
Join City Year Washington, DC, for our Gala in the Garden on June 1st at 6PM at The Observatory at America's Square! We will celebrate our new Executive Director, Michael Stevens, and recognize AmeriCorps members, students, and school partners during an evening of excellence.
How do I secure my spot at the gala?
Individuals, friends, and families can register by purchasing a gala ticket. A donation to City Year DC is required to secure one of our limited gala spots. Your generous, tax-deductible donation helps us offset the costs of planning, material costs and running the event all while supporting the students we serve in schools across Washington, DC each day.
You will receive a donation receipt from City Year, Inc. a few weeks after the conclusion of the event. Donations are not refundable once completed.
Where is the gala being held this year?
This year, the gala will be held in person on June 1st at 6PM at The Observatory at America’s Square! Thank you so much for celebrating with us in a truly unprecedented year!

Is there parking at the venue? How do I travel to the venue?
The Observatory’s parking garage available to our guests for $12. Paid street parking is also available. We encourage guest to take public transportation and/or rideshare. The Red line is an 8-minute walk to The Observatory. The closest Metro station is Union Station.
Is City Year DC following Covid-19 safety policies?
Please stay home if you are not feeling well. City Year DC will provide KN95 masks for guests who request them. Venue protocols and entry requirements may change. We will continue to monitor CDC recommendations and cases in the district. You can also learn more about the venue’s safety guidelines here.
