MLK Day of Service is Coming!

Monday, January 16, 2012 will be our biggest service day of the year.

City Year celebrates Dr. King's birthday as a "day on, not a day off" by honoring his legacy through service projects. Last year, 8,000 volunteers joined City Year's 1,750 corps members throughout the nation to participate in a day of service to commemorate the civil rights movement and honor the life and work of Dr. King. Over 700 people came out to our event last year to help renovate three schools in the Englewood community with murals, painting and construction projects.

This year, MLK Day of Service will be as powerful as ever. Volunteers will work alongside community members to help transform and uplift Henry Ford Powerhouse High SchoolBethune School of Excellence and the North Lawndale YMCA in the North Lawndale community on Chicago's west side.

Make MLK Day an opportunity to invite your students, friends and family help keep Dr. King's legacy alive. Registration is now open! Registration closes on January 6 at 11:50pm or when we top off at 800 volunteer entries so make sure you reserve your spot soon!
