Celebrating Another Year of Service
We are proud to celebrate another successful year of service!
During the 2019-2020 school year, 80 City Year Orlando AmeriCorps members fulfilled a year–long commitment to serve as near–peer tutors and mentors to students in eight Orlando schools. Although the year did not end as planned, City Year Orlando AmeriCorps, in partnership with OCPS and school administration, shifted to a virtual training and service model to provide social, emotional and academic support to students while schools were closed. City Year Orlando served more than 350 students through virtual programming, social media engagement and virtual office hours, that provided students with the opportunity to talk to a trusted mentor.
