City Year is proud to partner with Colorado State University-Global Campus, the first and only 100% online, independent, regionally accredited state university in the U.S. offering eligible City Year alumni and staff 4 annual 25% tuition scholarships and a waived application fee.


Colorado State University-Global Campus offers modern learners affordable, 100% online Bachelors and Masters degrees, nationally recognized certificates and continuing education programs. Career-relevant curriculum is reviewed every 18 months by industry leaders to ensure applicability to industry needs and trends.

City Year alumni and staff can further their career by completing a bachelor’s degree in areas such as organizational leadership, applied social sciences, information technology and more. Those who already completed a bachelor’s can take their education to a new level with a master’s degree in many areas including our Master of Science in Teaching and Learning with options to also receive your education licensure.

CSU-Global has flexible courses, with terms starting every 4 weeks. Our programs are offered 100% online in an asynchronous environment with no set class times or locations. CSU-Global is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and our business program is further accredited by the ACBSP Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

Eligibility & Additional Info


  • 25% Tuition Scholarship. The scholarship award is equal to 25% of tuition, for up to four(4) recipients per year. Maximum scholarship value is $75 per credit hour off of the affiliate rate (10% reduction) for their next 36 undergraduate credits or 18 graduate credits after receiving the scholarship. Maximum award amount is $2700 per undergraduate student $1350 per graduate student. Student must reapply for subsequent awards.

  • Applicants must be an eligible member of the City Year community including currently serving AmeriCorps members, alumni who completed a term of AmeriCorps service, and staff members of AmeriCorps employed for at least two years

  • Applicants must be enrolled as a degree seeking or certificate student

  • Recipients are subject to all institutional scholarship terms and conditions

  • Scholarship funds can only be applied to courses that fulfill a degree requirement (core, specialization, or elective)

  • Colorado State University-Global Campus will allow deferrals up to one year if accepted applicants decide to serve additional time with City Year.

  • Scholarships described above represent the minimum awards; applicants will be considered for additional merit-based aid based on the academic strength of the application
