difference in classrooms and in the lives of students. This partnership
reflects the shared visions and values of both organizations, and their belief
that young people can keep students on track to graduate from high school and
pursue post-secondary education. City Year strengthens an applicant’s
competitiveness and chances for being selected for the Citizen Schools National
Teaching Fellowship in California, Massachusetts or New York.

The City Year experience is a strong indicator of future success as a Citizen Schools Teaching Fellow and serving a year with City Year strengthens an applicant’s application and chances for being selected as a program participant.
National Teaching Fellows receive an annual living stipend of $23,550 pre-tax, paid in bi-weekly installments. You will also be eligible to receive:

*While AmeriCorps members are allotted up to four years of service, they are only eligible to receive a total of two education awards in their lifetime. City Year alumni, who have served for one year, interested in serving as Citizen Schools Teaching Fellows will only receive ONE more Education Award from AmeriCorps. City Year alumni who have served two years with City Year and go on to serve with Citizen Schools will not be eligible for an Education Award from AmeriCorps.
