City Year is proud to partner with Claremont Graduate University, the only comprehensive university in the nation dedicated entirely to graduate-level education, offering a $12,000 annual tuition fellowship.

Eligibility & Additional Info


  • The award to eligible City Year participants will be a $12,000 fellowship per year for all admitted City Year corps, alumni or staff members per year, renewable in subsequent years of the program until degree has been completed. The $12,000 annual equates to $6,000 per semester based on 12 units of enrollment. The amount will be adjusted if enrolled in more or less than 12 units per semester. 
  • Eligible members of the City Year community include currently serving corps members, alumni who completed a term of AmeriCorps service and staff members employed for at least two years.

  • Request application fee waiver: Please contact the Admissions Office at to receive an application fee waiver code as a City Year member.

  • Request City Year service verification: Please email the City Year Alumni & Career Services Department at with "Claremont Graduate University: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line and include the site where you served and dates of service in the email. This letter will be sent directly to CGU’s Admissions Office and added to your applicant file.
