University Partnership: Eastern University Graduate and Professional Studies

City Year is proud to partner with Eastern University, recognized for its academic excellence and ranked in the top tier of North Regional Universities in the America's Best Colleges in U.S. News and World Report, so our alumni can continue to affect change in their communities, offering 20% Tuition Credit Grants.


Derived from the commitment to the mission statement of Eastern University, Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) philosophy of education is steeped in the university's commitment to the integration of faith, reason, and justice. GPS is comprised of approximately 1,400 students taking classes from 300 full- and part-time faculty at various locations throughout southeastern Pennsylvania, Central Pennsylvania, and on five continents around the world. Their nearly thirty programs range from associates degree to Ph.D. A variety of convenient delivery models are offered including adult accelerated, full semester, academic session, residency and online formats.

  • Visit the GPS Adult Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions website

  • To get the application fee waived and be eligible for the tuition grant:
    • A service verification letter must be requested by emailing with "Eastern University GPS” in the subject line. Please specify Adult undergraduate or adult graduate program.  Within the email, include the site where you served and your corps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to Admissions Office and added to your applicant file.
    • The tuition discount will not be issued to any applicant until ALL admission requirements are met and materials submitted to GPS admissions (by the deadline) and an admission decision rendered.
    • Upon notification of acceptance, the tuition grant will be applied by the recruiter to the student's account.
