Share |

City Year is proud to partner with the Public Education & Business Coalition to offer The Bridge Builder Teacher Residency Experience, the first teacher training and licensure program designed specifically to harness the power and idealism of former City Year Corps Members. Through layers of support, trauma-informed professional development and a strong team culture, the Bridge Builder Residency Program aims to develop equity-focused educators that put kids first in their classrooms.

Background

We know all students deserve to meet their full potential. At the same time, more than 10 million children live in neighborhoods of concentrated poverty-- neighborhoods where qualified teachers are in increasingly short supply. We believe that City Year alumni, by leveraging skills from their year of serve to support both academic and social-emotional development in their classrooms, have the potential to be incredible educators that close gaps for students in our highest-need schools.
