The Master of Arts in Social Justice and Community Organizing program at Prescott College (on-campus and online options) prepares students to tackle the challenges of economic, social, political, and environmental inequality. Students will develop the practical and analytical skills, experiences, and connections required to collaborate toward social justice and human rights at local, national, and international levels. Strong focus is placed on critical social theory as a powerful tool for understanding complex relations of history, politics, economics, culture, and power with a commitment to learning. The program faculty are well known community organizers from across the country.

Eligibility & Additional Info 

  • 25% tuition scholarship. The award will be equal to 25% of tuition for all admitted City Year corps, alumni and staff members per year.

  • Scholarships awarded to City Year alumni for at least one term of service and City Year staff members employed for at least two years.

  • A one-year deferral for admitted students who decide to serve with City Year for additional time before starting their study with the graduate program in Community.
Eligible Programs and To Apply:
The program admits new students on a rolling admissions basis three times a year for its fall, spring, and summer terms with the following preferred application deadlines.

Fall term: January 1 - July 1
Summer term: February 1 - May 1
Spring term: November 1 - December 15

To Identify Your City Year Affiliation

  •  City Year verification: To be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing with "Prescott College" in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your corps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to Admissions Office and added to your applicant file.
