Eligibility & Additional Info

  • The award for Stetson University will be equal to at least 40% of tuition for up to ten recipients per year.
  • Scholarships awarded to City Year corps members or alumni for at least one year of service and City Year staff members employed for at least two years.
  • Admitted students will be permitted to defer enrollment by one year if they decide to stay with City Year for additional time before starting their studies.
  • Applicants will be considered for additional merit-based awards based on the strength of the application Eligible degree programs:
    • > Business (Master of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy)
    • > Counselor Education (Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling and School Counseling)   
    • > Teacher Education (Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Reading Education)
    • > English (Master of Arts degree in English)

  • Deadlines: Application deadlines vary by program. Please check the Stetson University website for more deadline details.
  • To identify your City Year affiliation: Please contact Stetson University‚Äôs Graduate Admissions Office to identify yourself as a City Year applicant and get the application fee waived. Please also self-identify on your resume and/or essay.
  • City Year verification: To get the application fee waived and to be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing with "Stetson University Graduate Programs" in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your corps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to Admissions Office and added to your applicant file.
