University of New Hampshire Department of Education

City Year is proud to partner with the University of New Hampshire's Department of Education, offering 50% tuition scholarships for City Year AmeriCorps members, alumni, and staff.

The University of New Hampshire’s Department of Education offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

50% scholarships

The minimum annual scholarship amount will be equal to 50% of tuition towards enrollment in a graduate program through the Department of Education for one or more accepted City Year applicants. The scholarship is renewable for a second year assuming adequate program progress has been made in the first year.

Scholarships are awarded to accepted City Year AmeriCorps members & alums who completed at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.

Applicants will be considered for additional merit-based awards depending on the strength of their application.

  • Enrollment deferral: a one-year deferral for students admitted to the program who decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting their studies.

To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing with “UNH Dept of Ed: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and dates of service. This letter will be sent to the graduate admissions office and added to your applicant file.
